Monster Trucks

So in spirit of embracing Montana culture we went to a Monster Truck Rally last night! It was awesome! I've never been before and wow- it was so LOUD! Thankfully for us our friends recommended some ear plugs and loaned us some ear muffs! Dylan loved the big cars and even requested a Monster Truck bedtime story for later that night. Along with Monster Trucks we saw Quad Racing, and Dirt Bike Racing with kids as little as 4 years old! It was crazy to see these little kids riding their bikes over the big huge dirt piles! We had such a fun time even though we came home smelling like dirt, gas and smoke!

Just Clowning Around...

When I saw this on my cousin Carlie's blog I just had to have it!

This is a picture of my Grandmother- or as we call her Mamo. She is 91 years old, has severe Parkinson's disease, is recently widowed and still managed to get dressed up for Halloween so when her grandkids and great-grandkids came over she would be in costume. It never ceases to amaze me what Mamo can talk people into doing for her! She is and has been an amazing woman all her life and I'm so blessed to have such a grandmother!

Happy Halloween

This year we went as superheros! Dylan was Buzz Lightyear, Brian was Wolverine and I was Batgirl. I totally loved this theme! Ever since the Beecrofts came to my party two years ago as superheros I just knew one day I would have to follow- We thought it was just so awesome! We went to a Halloween Party and then did some good 'ole Trick or Treating! Dylan had a blast! Happy Halloween!

The Things They Say...

Dylan has just been saying the funniest things lately... Here are just a few!

"Mom, careful when you Shampoo my hair that you don't let it STINK my eyes!!!"

"I love the CATAKILLER Story."

We went to McDonald's the other day and the lady asked if the Happy Meal was for a boy or a girl and I said a boy at the same time Dylan yells "I want the Pony Toy!!!" So he is now the proud owner of a pink My Little Pony.

"I need to go to sleep so when I wake up tomorrow I can put on my Buzz Lightyear Costume and Fly to Preschool- All by myself!! Then I'll stop to get gas, cuz I have lots of gas."

"Mom, I need a baby sister. And don't worry I won't stick her down the hole."
(He means the Prairie Dog holes in which he throws the rocks."

When I dyed my hair brown Dylan kept asking "Mom, are you Kisha?"
Don't worry I went Blond again as soon as possible to avoid confusion.

The other day I told Dylan that I loved Dad...
"No, you don't love Dad, you love Kisha and I love Dad and that's our problem."

When trying on Super Hero costumes at the store this is the commentary from Dylan-
"Mom, your so silly. I can see your bum."
Naturally I chose a different Costume.

"Mom, I want to watch Jungle Junkin"
"What?"
"Jungle Junkin"
"Dylan I don't know what that is."
(Then I go out into the Family Room where a preview for Jungle Junction comes on.)
"Oh...Jungle Junction?"
Sigh..."Yes, Jungle Junkin....Just like I told you."

"Dad, if you don't stop tickling Mom then you're going to have to 'Take a Break' on the naughty Step- until you say sorry and then you cry- and then I'll give you a hug and tell you 'I Love You'."

"Mom, Where's my Dad?"
"At Work"
Sigh..."Again?"

"Mom, Boys have weenies and Girls have bums."

"Can you please turn on the fan...my poop really stinks."

Rodeo

This Friday we went to the Nile Rodeo here in Billings, Montana. It is really the first 'Real' Rodeo I've attended and ....I Loved It! I just couldn't get over the Bull Riding! CRAZY!!! Dylan loved the little kids riding the sheep and has already informed us that he wants to 'give it a try'. But, let's be honest it doesn't get better than watching a five year old riding a sheep! We had a great time and can't wait to go again!

A Ghoul's Night Out

So this year instead of hosting our usual Adult Halloween Party I changed it up a bit and just did a Ghoul's (Girls) Night Out! This idea is actually thanks to Crystal (You're so awesome) and it turned out to be so much fun. Kisha and I made all the food and I have to admit thanks to all the cooking tips I learned from Julie- it actually wasn't so bad. We had deviled egg eyeballs, chocolate covered pretzels, mud pudding, chicken salad sandwiches, orange trifle, cranberry salsa and of course the Chocolate Fountain. We even hollowed out mini pumpkins and filled it with whipped cream pudding mix- the Lemon was awesome- and I don't even like Lemon!!! For games we started off with the 'Guess who you are' game. To play you write down the name of a spooky person or thing and without the person seeing, you place it on their back. They then have to ask the other guests yes/no questions to try to determine who they are. This is really great for breaking the ice and having people start to talk to each other. The other game we played was 'double dice'. For this we had a gift for each guest placed on a table. Then we let each person roll the dice one time- if you rolled a double then you selected a gift from the table- if you didn't roll a double you wait until your next turn. Once every guest has a gift you set the timer for 3 minutes and let every person roll again- if they roll doubles again then they have to switch gifts with another guest. Just to keep everyone on their toes we made a house rule that if you rolled doubles, you had to switch gifts, even if you really loved your gift! It ended up being tons of fun and everyone went home with something really fun! It's been a bit lonely up here in Montana without lots of Girlfriends to hang with and this was such a fun way to get to know other girls in the area! I was so sad when I thought we wouldn't be able to have a Halloween Party this year because, well, we really don't know many people, but this turned out to be so much fun!
